Amber Dortch, LMSW started her journey in mental health working at Mosaic Community Services now known as Sheppard Pratt in 2015. This sparked her passion for working with vulnerable populations who suffer with mental illness, substance abuse, and chronic homelessness. She graduated from University of Maryland School of Social Work and became a mental health therapist where she serves men, women, and adolescents in Baltimore City. She has been able to expand her creativity in finding resources for clients to best fit their needs and learned how to work with a multidisciplinary team in reaching program goals. She enjoys “ doing life with my clients” focusing on increasing their quality of life in their current state even if it appears difficult using a strengths-based perspective. She’s also a team player and believes in having a strong supportive network ( which can be family, friends, community worker, etc.,) which can produce positive changes to occur in someone's life. She looks forward to working with individuals and families in the Harford County community to expand her understanding of the community's needs.
